National Green Energy Fund Act, No. 10 of 2018 (Vanuatu)

The Act establishes the National Green Energy Fund. The objectives of the Fund are: 

  • To support projects and activities aimed to achieve the objectives of the National Energy Road Map in providing accessible, affordable, secure and reliable and sustainable energy and green growth.
  • To provide financial support and technical assistance to extend electricity access to persons using renewable energy sources and facilitate more efficient end-use of energy. 

The Fund further establishes the National Green Energy Fund Board which shall be responsible for the efficient and proper management and control of the monies of the Fund. The Board is empowered to appoint a National Green Energy Fund Manager which shall, among other have similar functions, identify other sources of funding for the Funds, identify investment project opportunities and partner intermediaries, negotiate terms and conditions of investment agreements, monitor investment performance.
