National Energy Policy, 2010 (Palau)

The National Energy Policy of Palau essentially aims for improved institutional arrangements for energy sector management. In order to bring about an adequate institutional framework, the Policy pushes for an Energy Act which would determine the functions and authority required for efficient energy administration. The Act shall be formulated on the basis of the National Energy Policy and determine roles and responsibilities in the energy sector. The Policy proposes an Energy Administration which functions will include management of a national energy database for effective analysis and policy development, regulation of energy matters such as operators' licenses, grid access codes, equipment standards, tariffs and import rules for energy equipment, integration of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures into mainstream energy policy planning, project development and implementation, among others.
