National Development Strategy 2016-2035 (Solomon Islands)

The National Development Strategy (NDS) 2016-2035 steers the strategic course of Solomon Islands' future development. It sets out the long-term vision, mission and objectives that embody the aspirations of all Solomon Islanders. The NDS covers a 20-year period for a longer term planning framework. It enunciates the national vision of improving the social economic livelihoods of all Solomon Islanders. It also sets out the national mission to create a peaceful, harmonious and progressive Solomon Islands led by ethical, accountable, respected and credible leadership that enhances and protects people's culture, social, economic and spiritual well-being. The NDS is relevant to Government institutions and development partners who can use it as a foundation in formulating support programmes. Non-government organizations, churches and faith-based organizations, community leaders and individuals can also use the NDS as a common point of reference and find their role in the NDS framework.
