National Climate Change Policy 2018–2030, 2019 (Fiji)

The National Climate Change Policy of Fiji envisions a resilient and prosperous Fiji, in which the well-being of current and future generations is supported and protected by a socially inclusive, equitable, environmentally sustainable, net-zero emissions economy. It is founded on three Policy Pillars, particularly being Human Rights-Based, Gender-Responsive, and Evidence-Based.

The policy objectives and strategies of the NCCP are presented in three clusters: foundations, dimensions and pathways.

Foundations cover national risk governance and global climate action. Dimensions cover climate change adaptation, climate change mitigation. Finally, pathways refer to capacity development, sustainable financing, and private sector transition and engagement. The policy further adheres to the guiding principles of sustainable wellbeing, social cohesion, inclusivity, partnership, agility, urgency, transparency and communication and integrated learning.
