National Action Plan to Combat Land Degradation and Drought, 2006 (Tuvalu)

The National Action Plan (NAP) is aligned with the national sustainable development plan of Tuvalu. Therefore the vision for this NAP consistent with the country's vision statement, to achieve sustainable development and all activities will be oriented to strengthen efficiency of sustainable land management and utilization of natural resources to meet the demands of social development at an appropriate level. The NAP identifies priority program activities which address land degradation as well as meet sustainable development goals. These include providing enabling activities, land degradation inventory and monitoring, prevention of land degradation, rehabilitation of degraded land, establishment of sustainable land management plans, monitoring and mitigating the impact of drought, and integrating traditional knowledge into modern ways.
