Naseem Akhtar and Another vs. The State, PLD 2010 SC 938 (Pakistan)

A man killed his uncle, the latter's wife and two daughters. The parties subsequently compromised. However, the Supreme Court rejected the compounding of the offense, stating that the requirement of leave of court does not automatically affix a judicial stamp upon a compromise. This is particularly true if the compromises and the offender are both beneficiaries of the crime.
