MONRE Action Program for Implementing the National Green Growth Strategy 2015–2020, with Vision to 2030, MONRE Decision No. 965/QD-BTNMT, 2015 (Viet Nam)

The objectives of the MONRE Action Program for Implementing the National Green Growth Strategy are to: (i) effectively implement objectives set out in the national green growth strategy, assist in the restructuring and further improvement of economic institutions to reach the objective of greenizing existing industries and encouraging development of economic sectors that take into account natural resources efficiency along with high added value and environmental protection; (ii) make a significant contribution towards reducing greenhouse gas emission intensity and more effectively respond to climate changes; (iii) play a part in preventing and suppressing tendency for environmental pollution, natural resources degradation and biodiversity decline; (iv) improve the quality of the environment, strive for an environmentally-friendly lifestyle to provide basic conditions for the green economy with assurance that a low level of waste substances and carbon dioxide are discharged. The Strategy sets out the actions to be taken, namely: (a) control, prevent and reduce creation of pollution sources, and restore polluted areas to their previous condition; (b) improve the competence in responding to climate changes and reduction in greenhouse gas emissions; (c) encourage ecological product manufacturing industries and environmental services; (d) exploit natural resources in an efficient and sustainable manner; and (e) reserve ecological diversity and develop the natural capital.
