Medium-Term Development Plan III 2018–2022, 2018 (Papua New Guinea)
The Medium-Term Development Plan III (MTDP III) focuses on the overall goal of "securing [Papua New Guinea's] future through inclusive sustainable economic growth." It intends to utilize key investment to catalyze medium-term economic growth. It identifies eight Key Result Areas, aligned with the government agenda, namely: (1) increased revenue and wealth creation, (2) quality infrastructure, (3) sustainable social development, (4) improved law, justice and national security, (5) improved service delivery, (6) improved governance, (7) responsible sustainable development, (8) sustainable population. The MTDP III was developed in consonance with the principles of inclusivity and sustainability. In implementing the MTDP III, the government will prioritize: (i) increasing the revenue base and improving revenue collection, (ii) increasing exports, (iii) reducing imports, (iv) improving and increasing opportunities for citizens to create wealth, and (v) improving the quality of effectiveness in the delivery of public goods and services.
