Mandatory Philhealth Coverage for all Persons with Disabilities, Republic Act No. 11228 (Philippines)
All persons with disability (PWDs) are automatically covered under the National Health Insurance Program of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth). The premium contributions for all PWDs shall be paid by the national government. If PWDs work in the formal economy, the premium contributions shall be equally shared by their employers and the national government. The PhilHealth is required to develop exclusive packages for PWDs to address their specific health and development needs.
