Magna Carta for Disabled Persons, Republic Act No. 7277 (Philippines)

The Magna Carta enumerates the rights and privileges of disabled persons with respect to their right to equal opportunity for employment, and right to access to quality education. It mandates the Department of Health to institute a national health program for the prevention, recognition and early rehabilitation of disabilities. It further mandates the Department of Social Welfare and Development to develop and implement programs on auxiliary social services which would respond to the needs of marginalized disabled persons.
