Law on Economical and Efficient Use of Energy, Part I, 2010, No. 50/2010/ QH12 (Viet Nam)

The Decree mandates economical and efficient use of energy and provides measures and policies to promote and implement this mandate. The Law enunciates principles and state policies towards the objective of efficient energy use. It provides the rights, obligations and responsibilities of organizations, households and individuals in the economical and efficient use of energy. It likewise prescribes energy use strategies, master plans and programs, as well as identifies certain prohibited acts. It specifically provides for economical and efficient use of energy in industrial production, identifying measures applicable to processors and subcontract producers, manufacturers and repair facilities of device and equipment, mining establishments, energy producers and suppliers, and cottage industrial producers. It provides for economical and efficient use of energy in construction and public lightning, transport, agricultural production, service providers and households, and state-funded investment projects and agencies. It identifies the responsibilities for management of energy use by major energy users, energy consuming devices and equipment.
