Juvenile Justice System Act, 2018 (Pakistan)

The Act requires that every juvenile and child who is a victim of an offense to have the right to legal assistance at the expense of the State. It provides the jurisdiction of the juvenile court, process for the arrest of a juvenile, release of a juvenile on bail and the procedure applicable for the juvenile court, among others. 

Notably, it provides that no female juvenile shall be apprehended or investigated by a male police officer or released on probation under supervision of a male officer. It further established and provided the rules on the certification of observation homes and Juvenile Rehabilitation Centers, including separate centers for female juveniles, where juveniles are given education, vocational or technical training for their development.
