Juvenile Justice Act 2015 (Kiribati)

The Act lays down the procedure to be observed in juvenile courts for young persons in conflict with the law or those who, in the opinion of the court, has cognizance of any case in relation to such person, who is 14 years of age or upwards and under the age of 18 years. 

It also provides the procedure for the bail of children in conflict with the law who are arrested, as well as the custody of children. 

The juvenile court is vested with the power to order a parent or guardian to pay fine, damages or costs which are imposed upon a child in conflict with the law. It also provides the methods of dealing with children who are charged with offenses.
