Intended Nationally Determined Contribution, 2015 (Palau)

Palau, in its Intended Nationally Determined Contribution (INDC), committed to an absolute energy sector emissions target of 22% below 2005 levels by 2025. It also targets 45% renewable energy product on by 2025 and 35% energy efficiency within the same period. Additional reductions may also come from the waste and transport sectors. The INDC covers carbon dioxide and methane, and the energy (electricity generation), transport and waste sectors. It also noted that Palau does not intend to use market-based mechanisms to meet its targets when the INDC was submitted.
