Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Filipino Sign Language Act (Philippines)

The Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) provided recommended policies which state agencies, offices and instrumentalities are encouraged to adopt. These policies touch on the national information and agency information for the Filipino deaf and Filipino Sign Language, inclusive governance and the needed coordination across agencies.

The IRR mandate the Komisyon ng Wikang Pilipino to establish a national system of standards, accreditations, and procedures for Filipino Sign Language (FSL) interpretation. The IRR also require the development of guidelines for the inclusion of FSL in instruction materials, as well as the institutional use of FSL in the justice system, government workplaces and media, among others.
