Implementing Rules and Regulations for the Chainsaw Act of 2002, Department of Environment and Natural Resources Administrative Order No. 2003-24 (Philippines)

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) shall issue a Certificate of Registration to owners, possessors and/or users of chainsaws who fall under the identified categories, which shall be valid for two (2) years upon issuance, and shall be renewable for the same period. For non-commercial orchard and fruit tree farmers or entities whose line of business are not related to wood and/or timber production, the validity shall be five (5) years which shall be renewable for the same period. 

The Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) require all natural and juridical persons who own or are in possession of chainsaws to register the same with the DENR. The IRR further provide the requirements which applicants must comply with for the registration, permit to purchase or import, permit to manufacture, permit to sell, authority to lease, rent or lend, among others, their chainsaws.
