Handbook for National Action Plans on Violence against Women

The Handbook assembles current knowledge on effective policy for the prevention of and response to violence against women. It provides a concrete description of the implementation of such policy by different States in their own contexts. It provides guidelines for the formulation of effective plans by policymakers and advocates based on good practices and expert advice. It embodies principles designed to be applied regardless of the context, size or resource-base of any individual State. The Handbook discusses the international and regional legal and policy framework mandating States to adopt and implement National Action Plans to address violence against women. The Handbook likewise presents a model framework for National Action Plans on violence against women, providing recommendations, accompanied by explanatory commentaries and good practice examples.
