Green Jobs Act of 2016 (Philippines)

The Philippine Green Jobs Act promotes the creation of green jobs and grants incentives for this purpose. To encourage business enterprises to generate and sustain green jobs which are certified by the Climate Change Commission, businesses shall enjoy a special deduction from taxable income equivalent to 50% of the total expenses for skills training and research development expenses, tax and duty free importation of capital equipment directly and exclusively used in the promotion of green jobs of the business enterprise, on top of existing benefits granted by other laws. The law also defines the responsibilities of various government agencies in its implementation. In particular, the Climate Change Commission shall develop and administer appropriate standards for the assessment and certification of green goods and services, technologies and practices.
