The accused, who was charged with killing the victim, applied for pre-arrest bail. The heirs of the deceased had pardoned the petitioner, which pardon was being invoked in support of the bail application. However, the court denied the application, on the ground that the offense alleged against the accused is not only an offense against the victim but perpetrated against the State as well.
