Food Safety Act of 2013, Republic Act No. 10611 (Philippines)

The Act provided the basic principles and guidelines of food safety, established the objective of food law which is to protect human life and health in the production and consumption of food and provided the guidelines for the use of science and risk analysis in food safety regulation. 

The Act is geared towards the protection of consumer interests and requires the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Health to prescribe mandatory food safety standards. It defines the responsibilities of food business operators and relevant government agencies over food safety.
