Fire Code of the Philippines 2008, Republic Act No. 9514

The Fire Code shall be administered and enforced by the Bureau of Fire Protection. The Code requires that owners, administrators or occupants of buildings, structures, and their premises or facilities shall comply with the inspection requirements, safety measures for hazardous materials, safety measures for hazardous operations/processes, and the provision on fire safety construction, protective and warning system as prescribed by the Fire Code and other relevant rules and regulations. 

The Act further penalizes the prohibited acts which include the issuance or renewal of occupancy or business permit without a fire inspection certificate.
