Executive Order No. 881 of 2010: Authorizing the Climate Change Commission to Coordinate REDD+ Mechanisms (Philippines)

The Executive Order authorizes the Climate Change Commission to include the programs and action plans relating to Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation-Plus (REDD+Plus) in the scope of its coordination. Further, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) shall serve as the operational implementor of REDD+. The Executive Order also provides that any support from international organizations for REDD+ shall be managed and utilized by the DENR in accordance with its organic mandate. Similar mechanisms shall also be managed and utilized by the department vested with the organic mandate to perform such mechanism. However, the management and utilization by the DENR and other agencies shall be coordinated with the Climate Change Commission.
