Environmental and Climate Adaptation Levy (Plastic Bags) Regulation 2017, Legal Notice No. 61 (Fiji)

The Regulations implement the Environment and Climate Adaptation Levy Act, particularly on the levy imposed on plastic bags. It provides that the levy on plastic bags must be collected by a cashier at the point at which a plastic bag is provided by the business to a consumer. It directs the accountable person to ensure collection and payment of the levy, and to provide a monthly report of the collection. It likewise directs that a business must display a notice informing consumers of the Environment and Climate Adaptation Levy charged on plastic bags.
