Environment Management Act 2010 (Tonga)
The Act defined the functions and power of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, including liaising with Government agencies for issues affecting the environment and climate change, assisting other Government ministries and departments to meet their obligations for the protection of the environment and advising the Government on matters of environmental management, among others.
It also defined the powers of Environment Officers who may enter any land, premise, vehicle, ship, aircraft or other conveyance to monitor its impact on the environment without any warrant and investigate offenses relating to the environment, among others.
