An Energy Efficiency Roadmap for the Philippines, 2014-2030

The Energy Efficiency Roadmap for the Philippines is a long-term strategic plan to create a more energy-efficient Philippines, including all sectors of economic activity. The Roadmap acknowledges that the vision statements in the existing National Energy Efficiency and Conservation Program remain applicable, but targets are more appropriately recast in terms of sectoral and overall savings potential measured by energy intensity. Thus, the vision is for the Roadmap to guide the Philippines in building an energy-efficient nation, and in making energy efficiency and conservation a way of life for all Filipinos. On the other hand, targets are set in the context of strong economic growth and energy demand growth expected during the period. Demand is forecast to grow by 78% between 2014 and 2030, an average annual growth rate of 3.5%; transport and industry are the dominant end use sectors. The document also identifies, based on policy review, opportunities and priority action.
