Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act, Republic Act No. 11285 (Philippines)

The Act enumerated the roles and responsibilities of government agencies on the implementation of its provisions. The Department of Energy is mandated to be the lead agency for the formulation, development, implementation, enforcement and monitoring of energy management policies related to energy efficiency and other conservation plans and programs.

The Act created the Inter-Agency Energy Efficiency and Conservation Committee, which is responsible for the evaluation and approval of government energy-efficient projects. It prescribes the minimum level of energy performance standard applicable for the commercial, industrial and transport sectors, as well as other energy-consuming products, which must be met or exceeded by the foregoing sectors or by manufacturers of products before these can be offered for sale.
