Decree-Law No. 6/2004, General Bases of the Legal Regime for the Management and Regulation of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Timor-Leste)
The Decree-Law requires the establishment of the fisheries management plan by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries which shall prescribe the purposes, restrictions and methods in fishing activities. The Decree-Law provides the rules and regulations on the management and operation of fisheries and aquaculture, general licensing conditions and fishing quotas, classifications of fishing vessels and the applicable laws thereto. It further provides the rules on granting fishing permits for non-commercial fishing activities.
