Copyright Act 2018 (Kiribati)

The Act defines copyright as a property right that exists in original works and confers exclusive rights on the owner of the copyright in the works. It provides the rights of owners of copyrights, defines how a copyright in a work is infringed and exceptions to copyright infringement.

It also provides the rights of performers, producers of sound recordings and broadcasters. A person whose copyright has been infringed may bring an action to the High Court for infringement or breach of his/her rights against the person responsible for the infringement or breach.
