Control of Plants Act 1993 (Singapore)

The Act requires persons who intend to import and transship fresh fruits and vegetables to secure a license from the Director-General of Plant Health, as appointed. A license is also required prior to the cultivation of plants on any premises, except those for home gardening purposes or those not for sale.

The Director-General is also empowered to take measures for the eradication or prevention of the spread of any pest, and may also prohibit the export of any plant from Singapore to any country, territory or place upon the grounds enumerated in the Act.
