Consumer Protection Act (Tonga)
The Act authorizes the Minister responsible for commerce to prescribe approved standards for any goods, and prohibits the manufacture and supply of goods below the approved standard. It provides the procedure for complaints regarding the sale of goods below the approved standard and regulations on product recall. It also prohibits acts such as misleading or deceptive conduct, false representations, exclusive dealing, monopolization and price discrimination, among others.
