Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, Republic Act No. 6713 (Philippines)

The Act defines and enumerates the following norms of conduct expected of public officials and employees:

  1. Commitment to public interest
  2. Professionalism
  3. Justness and sincerity
  4. Political neutrality
  5. Responsiveness to the public
  6. Nationalism and patriotism
  7. Commitment to democracy
  8. Simple living

It also enumerates the prohibited acts and transactions of public officials and employees which are: 

  1. Prohibition of having any direct or indirect financial or material interest in any transaction requiring the approval of their office
  2. Outside employment and other activities
  3. Prohibition on using or divulging confidential or classified information officially known to them by reason of their office and not made available to the public
  4. Solicitation or acceptance of gifts
