Climate Change Strategic Plan for Manufacturing Industry and Energy, 2013 (Cambodia)

The Climate Change Strategic Plan for Manufacturing Industry and Energy is a roadmap that will aid the sector in planning its response to climate change related challenges. These could be done through energy efficiency and resource efficiency, reduction of pollution and waste emission, shifting from hazardous chemicals to less hazardous or non-hazardous substances in the factories, enterprises and handicrafts. The Climate Change Strategic Plan for Manufacturing Industry and Energy (CCSPMIE) sectors is divided into eight main parts. Part I gives an introduction of the manufacturing and energy sectors and the climate change strategic plan for the sector. Part II discusses the economic and climate situation of the manufacturing industry, small and medium enterprise and handicraft sector in Cambodia, and of energy production and supply in Cambodia. Part III defines the manufacturing and energy sectors and its sub-sector climate change profile and climate risk profile. Part IV discusses policies and strategies to respond to climate change in the industry and energy sectors. Part V proposes possible specific sectoral responses to climate change. Part VI provides the period of validity and review of the CCSPMIE for the sector. In closing, Part VII sets out the main purposes of the CCSPMIE, its vision of prevention and reduction, and the functioning of the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Energy.
