Climate Change Action Plan for Water Resources and Meteorology 2014-2018 (Cambodia)
The Climate Change Action Plan for Water Resources and Meteorology outlines the response to climate change for the sector. The action plan examines the context for the action plan with the current status of water development as well as its vulnerability to climate change impact. It identifies four strategic areas for the sector, namely:
- Improved hydrological planning and management and early warning
- Improved flood and drought management through changes in design of reservoirs and irrigation and protection infrastructures, especially in vulnerable zones
- Capacity development for Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology staff
- Promoting gender responsiveness in climate change planning in the water sector
These strategic areas are incorporated in a planning matrix which identifies the priority actions required. The key actions and corresponding budget is also indicated. It also includes key monitoring indicators for the sector.
