Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act, Act No. 82 of 2000 (Japan)
The Act expressly states that no person is to abuse a child. It further lays down for the procedure on notifications of child abuse to the appropriate office, and the measures to be taken upon receipt of such notification. These measures include:
- A request for appearance
- On-site investigations
- Inspection and search of the domicile or residence of the child, among others
It also provides the penalties for violation of the Act.
