Anti-Sexual Violence Law, Law No. 12 of 2022 (Indonesia)
The law describes and enumerates 19 forms of sexual violence and the penalties therefor, which include rape, forced marriage, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, sexual slavery, electronic-based sexual violence and pornography involving a child. The law provides for the penalties which include prison term, fine, restitution and in applicable cases, revocation of custody right or guardianship, and seizure of profit and/or assets acquired from the commission of the sexual violence offense. The law further lays down the procedure for the investigation, prosecution and court examination for trials involving sexual violence.
