Animals and Birds Act 2014 (Singapore)

The Act enumerates prohibited practices relating to animals, birds or fish including the importation or transshipment of any animal, bird or veterinary biologics without the requisite license, the importation or possession of noxious insects, pests or genetically modified organisms, and exportation of animals or birds without a license. It defines the process and authority for the Director-General to examine animals which may be infected with diseases. It also provides for the actions which are considered as cruelty to animals and the corresponding penalties therefor.
