Amendment to the Constitution of Nauru

The Amendment to the Constitution of Nauru modifies the provision on the appeals from a judgement of the Supreme Court. The Amendment provides that there shall be a Nauru Court of Appeal, with jurisdiction and powers to hear and determine appeals on all decisions or judgments of the Supreme Court. It sets out the number of judges, their appointment, the Presiding Justice, quorum, qualifications of the Justices and retirement, among others. The Act also provides that the judicial power and authority of the Republic is vested in the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court, the District Court and in such other courts or tribunals as are created by law.
