Action Plan for Energy Efficiency and Conservation, 2013 (Bangladesh)

The Action Plan for Energy Efficiency and Conservation aims to set logical visions, mission, objectives, institutional and legal framework and actions to be undertaken considering the energy scenario of Bangladesh. It consolidates and coordinates different Energy Efficiency (EE) & Energy Conservation (EC) programs and measures towards achieving a set of national targets. The Action Plan also recognizes EE and EC measures and programs associated with sectoral and national interests, putting emphasis on government priorities. The plan envisions efficient use of energy at all levels including generation, transmission, and distribution, as well in the demand side. It proposes regular inspection of power plants for preventive maintenance, system improvements, reduction of transmission and distribution losses, among others. Likewise, efficient equipment and household appliances will aid EE in the demand side.
