Act on the Prevention of Abuse of Persons with Disabilities and Support for Caregivers, Act No. 79 of 2011 (Japan)
The Act prohibits abuse on Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) and provides the penalties for commission of such abuse. It defines abuse on PWDs committed by caregivers and employers. The Act provides the mechanism and procedure for reporting any abuse against PWDs by caregivers and employers, and the measures to be taken upon receipt of such report. The Act also provides measures for prevention of abuse of PWDs in schools or vocational schools, nursery centers and medical institutions.
