An Act Creating the Laguna Lake Development Authority, Republic Act No. 4850 (Philippines)
The Laguna Lake Development Authority is vested with regulatory and law-enforcement functions in order to effectively achieve the policy of protecting the Laguna Lake region. Among its functions and powers, include:
- The responsibility to draft a detailed plan designed to conserve and optimize the resources within the Laguna Lake region in order to promote its social and economic development.
- The power to approve or disapprove all plans and projects proposed by local government units within the Laguna Lake region.
- The power to engage in activities within the region which are necessary to its socio-economic development.
- To reclaim portions of the lake or undertake reclamation projects.
- To issue new permits for the use of the lake waters for any projects to be undertaken therein.
