Act on Childcare Leave, Caregiver Leave, and other Measures for the Welfare of Workers Caring for Children or other Family Members, Act No. 76 of 1991 (Japan)

The Act provided for the conditions when a worker may apply to take a childcare leave, caregiver leave or time-off for sick/injured childcare. It also defines the obligations of the employer with respect to such applications. 

The Act also provided for limitations on overtime work and late-night work of workers who are taking care of children under a certain age, as defined under the law. It further prescribes the measures to be taken by employers to ensure that the provisions of the Act are implemented.
