2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development outlines 17 integrated and indivisible global goals to be achieved by 2030. These goals, designated as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), build on the Millennium Development Goals. The SDGs focus on poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, water and sanitation, energy, economic growth and employment, infrastructure and industrialization, inequality, human settlements, sustainable consumption and production, climate change, oceans, seas and marine resources, forests and biodiversity, peace and inclusivity, and sustainable development. The 2030 Agenda identifies climate change as "one of the greatest challenges of our time," noting that its adverse impact undermine the ability of all countries to achieve sustainable development. The 2030 Agenda recognizes that the full implementation of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda is critical for the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals and considers the Addis Ababa Action Agenda the outcome of the 2015 International Conference on Financing Development, an integral part of the 2030 Agenda.
