About the Developing Environmental Law Champions Program

Build capacity for effective environmental governance in countries of the Asia-Pacific for sustainable development.

We are a network of university teachers, trainers, and practitioners dedicated to advancing the teaching and practice of environmental, climate change and sustainability law across Asia.

Our ultimate objective is to develop a strong capacity for effective environmental governance in countries of the Asia-Pacific. By building environmental and climate law expertise, knowledge, and networks in the region, the implementation, compliance, and enforcement of environmental laws and standards can be improved.

Our Environmental Law Champions

Developing Environmental Champions 2017 Roundtable

Environmental law teachers and institutions serve as crucial resources and trainers to ministries of environment, environmental protection agencies, judiciary, businesses and NGOs. These educators and institutions are responsible for creating the next pipeline of environment and/or climate change law practitioners and civil servants, policy makers and judges who will influence sustainability outcomes in Asia.
