Tony George Puthucherril

Prof. (Dr.) Tony George Puthucherril is an Associate Professor at the Jindal Global Law School. He is also a Research Associate at the Marine & Environmental Law Institute at the Schulich School of Law, where he has taught courses on Canadian Property Law, Law of the Sea, and Arctic Ocean Law and Policy. He is a Senior Research Fellow with the International Ocean Institute, Canada. He is also a member of the World Commission on Environment & Development of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (Canada). A Vanier Canada Graduate Scholar, he holds a Ph.D. in Sea Level Rise, Integrated Coastal Zone Management, & Coastal Law and an LL.M. in Maritime Law from the Dalhousie University. He also holds a research-based M.Phil. degree in Water Law from the National University of Juridical Sciences, India. He has qualified the National Committee on Accreditation exams for international lawyers, administered by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. He is an internationally acknowledged expert in sustainable development law and his research interests include the interface between law and sustainable development, Law and governance in South Asia, Ocean and Coastal Zone Management law, Climate Change Law, International Environmental Law, Maritime Law and Water Law.
