Sourabh Ubale

Sourabh Ubale is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Law from Department of Law, University of Mumbai. He holds a Master's Degree in International Law from Department of Law, Savitribai Phule Pune University. His dissertation, “Right to Food as a Basic Human Right in India: Legislative and Judicial Perspectives”, was awarded with outstanding marks. He completed his BSL LL.B from Deccan Education Society’s Law College, Pune. He also holds various diplomas viz., Cyber Law (Symbiosis International University), Medical Jurisprudence & Forensic Science (Indian Law Society), Alternative Dispute Resolution System (Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University), a Post graduate diploma in Human Rights (Indian Institute of Human Rights), Introductory e-Learning Course on Climate Change (UNITAR) and certificate course in French Language (Pune University).

He represented India in various events such as, External Programme-40th Session of The Hague Academy of International Law (The Netherlands) held in Gujarat; 1st Session of Academy on Advanced Issues of Public International Law organized by The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (Switzerland) and GNLU held in Gujarat; The Oxford University India Research Paper Competition; Goi Peace Foundation of Japan & UNESCO’s International Essay Contest. He won a Special Rio+20 Silver Medallion in RIO+20 INDIA Programme organized by United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development. Additionally, he participated in several National and International conferences and workshops. Further, He was an intern at National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi and achieved Best Intern Award. Sourabh also practiced law in civil and criminal courts. He was recommended to UNESCO by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of India. Recently, He participated in the International Law Summer Programme organised by Xiamen Academy of International Law in Xiamen (P.R.China) and also made a presentation on "International Law & India: A Judicial Perspective".

During all these activities, Sourabh was given many tasks including research on the subjects such as International Public/ Private/ Economic Law, Human Rights, Environmental Law, Medical Law, Media Law, Science & Technology related Laws - with National and International Perspectives. He took training on teaching of Jurisprudence and Legal Methods at various levels like pre-law, under-graduates and post-graduates. He also qualified the University Grant Commission's National Eligibility Test for Assistant Professor along with Junior Research Fellowship.

Sourabh was a Teaching Associate at Department of Law & Human Rights Education Programme of Savitribai Phule Pune University and also taught International Economic Law & Medical Jurisprudence & Forensic Science, he also gave teaching assistance in subjects- Research Methodology, Public & Private International Law, Cyber Law, Industrial Relations & Human Resources, etc. along with the Human Rights. He had delivered number of guest lectures at various universities especially on International Economic Law & Research Methodology. He has also served as Assistant Professor of Law in Pune University affiliated college. Presently, he is an Assistant Professor at Marathwada Mitra Mandal's Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune which is accredited with Grade 'A' by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council of India. He is currently an Academic Research Coordinator and also Coordinator of CARPEL (Centre for Academic Research, Publication & E-Content in Law) at the Institute. He has published several research papers and articles in International and National Journals, Conference Proceedings as well as Chapters in Books & Monographs and working as editor of various journals and books.
