Mahmudul Hasan

LLM Candidate 2019 and Thomas Buergenthal Fellow

Mahmudul Hasan is currently studying Master of Laws (LLM) in Energy and Environmental Law at The George Washington University Law School, Washington D.C. He is the recipient of Thomas Buergenthal Fellowship at the GWU Law School. Earlier, he was employed as Lecturer in Law at the Sonargaon University and the University of Development Alternative in Dhaka for two years. He completed his Master of Laws (LLM) degree in 2015 and Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 2014 from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. In addition, Mahmudul is affiliated with IUCN World Commission of Environmental Law as a Member and Climate Tracker as a Freelance Climate Journalist. Currently, he is working on his research project on the indigenous community law-based approach to sustainable natural resource management in CHT in Bangladesh in cooperation with the Environmental Law Institute, Washington DC.
