Magsad Huseynov
First Secretary for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Azerbaijan
Magsad Huseynov is the first secretary of the Department for International Security of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, being desk officer for the United Nations.
In January 2024, he was appointed as COP29 Presidency’s senior negotiator for Article 6.
M.Huseynov holds BA in International Law from Baku State University and MA in International Law in Würzburg University. He attended foreign policy programmes of Clingendael Netherlands Institute of International Relations, US’ Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies, and ADA University.
He previously served as diplomat in the International Law and Treaties Department at the MFA, and political officer at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Spain.
He speaks Azerbaijani, English and Spanish.
