Fredrick Tamarau

Fredrick Tamarua is the Deputy State Solicitor with the Office of the State Solicitor for 12 years, and has practiced in both international law and commercial law, Mr. Tamarua’s core areas of practice have been international trade and investment law, global finance, climate change and environmental law and natural resources law. Mr. Tamarua has a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Papua New Guinea and a Masters in International Economic Law form the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.

In the area of climate change, Mr. Fredrick Tamarua is PNG’s lead negotiator for climate finance. He has also been instrumental in the drafting of the Climate Change (Management) Act 2015, and subsequent amendments; and the drafting the Papua New Guinea’s Carbon Markets Regulation.
