Fazil Jamal

Fazil Jamal is currently Assistant Professor of International Law at School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. His academic interests include public international law, environmental law, energy law, human rights. 

At the School, Mr. Fazil’s current teaching assignments include the following Courses:

  1. International Energy Governance (Monsoon Semester- Energy Studies Programme/SIS) 
  2. Law of International Organizations (Monsoon Semester-CILS/SIS)
  3. International Air and Space Law (Winter Semester- CILS/SIS)

Before joining as a faculty member at the School in 2012, Fazil taught Law at two other Universities- the Central University of Sikkim, Gangtok and Noida International University, Greater Noida (U.P). Graduating in Law from the University of Kerala (Thiruvananthapuram); Fazil holds LL.M. and M.Phil Degrees in International Law from the National Law School of India University (Bangalore) and the Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi) respectively. He was a Fox International Fellow at Yale University, New Haven (USA), 2007-08 and a recipient of the ADB Environmental Law Champions Development Award (Manila, Philippines), March 2015. He received a Fellowship of the Chinese Academy of International Law at Xiamen (China) to participate in its Summer Programme (July 2015), and is a member of the World Commission on Environmental Law, IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), Gland, Switzerland.
