Choikhand Janchivlamdan
Director, Climate Change Research and Cooperation Centre (CCRCC), Mongolia
Choikhand Janchivlamdan is a distinguished climate change expert with over two decades of experience in environmental policy, carbon markets, and climate finance. She holds a Ph.D. in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of Leicester, UK, and has led numerous initiatives in environmental consulting, clean energy, and infrastructure planning. Currently, she serves as the Director of the Climate Change Research and Cooperation Centre (CCRCC), where she plays a pivotal role in advancing Mongolia’s participation in international carbon market mechanisms under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. Her extensive portfolio includes the development of national strategies for greenhouse gas inventories, ecosystem services payment systems, methane reduction strategies, green technology deployment, and renewable energy projects.
She has made significant contributions to shaping Mongolia’s environmental policies and served as an alternate member of the Adaptation Fund Board. Her research focuses on climate change adaptation, sustainable pastoralism, and ecological evaluation in developing countries. Dr. Choikhand remains committed to fostering collaboration among policymakers, project developers, and other stakeholders to promote climate resilience and sustainable development across Asia and the Pacific.
